Snakeskin Print

Not posted in a while due to work etc etc. but gonna start posting much more regularly! This outfit is a mix up of old and newer pieces, but I thought it was a good time for this great sheer shirt to make a reappearance! Snakeskin/python/whatever you want to call it print is so perfect for this time of year as we (sadly) are starting to think about our autumn wardrobes.

The natural colours of the print make it great for teaming with statement monochrome pieces, and  accessories like I've done with my black tasseled bag (old, Republic) and chunky black heels (Urban Outfitters Sale). These heels were such a bargain, only £25 from £85! They're Out From Under - Lava Cleated Heels and I picked them up in UO Oxford Street..sold out online unfortunately, but you can still get the silver version. Real leather and v v comfy, love them already. Shorts are Primark, crop top is Topshop and shirt is George at Asda.. I know, I know but it's pretty close to the lovely Topshop snake print number and less than half the price, so couldn't resist!

I'm loving wearing shirts as a jacket/kimono just now as they're perfect for the on/off weather that is standard for our (sometimes) lovely British summer.. about 2 minutes after this was taken, the heavens opened. Easy way to add a bit of print or colour to a plain outfit and layer up at the same time. Snakeskin print definitely lends itself to this, the colours are perfect for adding to outfits with denim, monochrome and block brighter colours. Would also look fab with metallic pieces. Over-shirt is definitely the way to go with shorts, just the right length to cover your bum and make your legs look longer at the same time!

Snakeskin print is without a doubt the way to go for a fail safe transition to Autumn,  I'll definitely be carrying this look though to Autumn and swapping the denim shorts for some boyfriend jeans.
