With the weather being so unpredictable in the last week or so, this outfit incorporates a summer dress and jelly shoes with a practical rain coat to keep dry. So many days seem to start off nice and bright and reasonably warm, and end with a shower of rain and it's pretty hard to find something that's appropriate to wear.
I've gone for jelly shoes because I think it's a shame to stop wearing them just because it's not summer any more, their definitely a new take on casual flats, and great for this transitional period. The tan duffle bag is vintage, and such a nice casual, slouchy shape. Tan is such a versatile colour for accessories and great for going with the beige raincoat as black would be too harsh.
I've teamed the denim acid wash skater style dress that I've been wearing all summer as its so comfortable with a favourite rain jacket from Topshop that I've had for a couple of years now. It has a real vintage look, with duffle style fastenings and a cute checked lining. The beige colour makes it easy to wear with pretty much any outfit, and its the perfect weight for layering over chunky knits as it gets colder. I've been looking for a classic style mac/trench coat for this season. I love this H and M one, it's such a reasonable price (which is probably why they don't have my size in stock), and this ASOS one is also really nice but I can only find it in Petite at the moment. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled as I think it's a must have piece for the new season and will be the perfect go to coat for rainy days.
